Anti-SB54 (California Values Act) Resolution is Proposed
When this item was heard at the Board of Supervisors meeting 2 weeks ago, the room was packed with a lot of folks who spoke in favor of the proposed anit-SB54 resolution.
When Marshall Long spoke at the District 3 candidate debate, he was asked how he felt about the Biomass project-his reply was that how he feels about it doesn’t matter, that the law is what matters. He and the other supervisors need to be reminded that they can’t pick which laws they choose to follow – as of January of 2018, SB54 is the law in the State of California.
SB54, the California Values Act, protects due process for everyone in our community, including undocumented immigrants, because it sets a clear standard across the state to help protect that right. It ensures that every resident, whether they were born here or have immigrated here, feels safe at our schools, hospitals, courthouses, and libraries.
Please show up or send emails to the Board via Rene LaRoche/Board Clerk (firstname.lastname@example.org) respectfully stating your support of our fellow community members and State law (SB54).
